Q-11  What is the relation between temperature and the permanent magnetic behavior?

Q-1 In what situation magnetic therapy should not be used?

Ans. Pregnant women, and a person fitted with electro medical devices like insulin tube, pacemaker should not use magnetic therapy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-2 Which type of magnets can be used at very high temperature?

Ans. Samarium cobalt magnet is an ideal magnet that can be used in high temperature.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-3 Which magnet is susceptible to corrosion and why?

Ans. The magnet most susceptible to corrosion is NdFeB magnet. This is because it contain ferrous material and ferrous material is prone to rust. To prevent the rusting often the magnet is coated with nickel, zinc or gold.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-4 Where is the north pole of the magnet?

Ans. Pole that aligns itself with geographic north is the north pole of the magnet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-5 Which is the strongest ferromagnetic material?
Ans. Neodymium magnets are the strongest ferromagnetic materials which are used in various industrial and commercial applications.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-6 What is electromagnetism?
Ans. Electromagnetism is a study of electricity and magnetism. The principle on which electromagnets work is that electric current through a wire generates a magnetic field. The magnetic field exert the force which makes the metal objects stick to permanent magnets.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-7  What are ceramic magnets?

Ans. Ceramic magnets consist of iron oxide and barium/strontium carbonate. These magnets are made from pressing and sintering. These magnets are brittle and require diamond wheels if grinding is necessary.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-8  What are Injection Molded magnets?

Ans. Injection molded magnets are manufactured from resin and powders of different magnetic materials allowing parts to be made in an injection molding process. The molding process allows for the manufacture of more complex shapes. These magnets are usually lower in magnetic strength as there are limitations to the degree of loading.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-9  What are flexible magnets?

Ans. Flexible magnets are very similar to injection molded magnets but difference lie in the fact that they are manufactured in the form of sheets and flat strip.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-10  What is magnetic therapy?

Ans. The use of magnets for treating various physical disorders is called as magnetic therapy. The magnets increase the flow of blood and generates heat thereby providing relief in various joint pains, arthritis, cervical, spondylitis, headache etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-11  What is the relation between temperature and the permanent magnetic behavior?

Ans. The magnetic material starts to lose its strength permanently if it is operated at curie temperature. Also if the magnet is used above Tmax temperature it will effect its power and magnetic strength.
